The Longines Heritage Range in its natural habitat

Longines have a true diving history and created iconic diving watches in the 60’s. Their Heritage range are accurate re-issues of these icons. The Longines Heritage Legend Diver, seen below on the right, is a beautifully somber watch, that just has to be seen in the flesh to appreciate its aesthetics. After having spent four days with it, was difficult handing it back to Longines. The 42mm case sits perfectly with todays taste for case sizes. ┬áThe synthetic strap looks great and works as it should. The dial design is a master class in how to design an uncluttered easy to read watch.

The above watch is the Longines Heritage Diver Chronograph, again a re-issue. The design pays homage to Longines watches from the 70’s, in fact the biggest difference is under the hood with the addition of a contemporary movement. Great wrist presence and a strong 70’s vibe with the 43mm cushion case.

The Longines Heritage Diver 1967, pictured above, was re-issued this year (2015) and proved to be a firm favourite with our entire crew, but I suppose more importantly, was well received on launch. If you look at diving history, it is actually odd to have a diving watch with a chronograph function as the 67 has, but it was useful to time activities for divers. The striking red bezel works so well with this watch design. It can’t be missed and really makes the watch pop. The 42mm case sits well on the wrist and houses a 27 jewel ETA based movement made for Longines.
